How does it work?
Open the suitcase and place a card on the yellow side or ‘playing field’ of the suitcase. Start with number one which teaches children to learn to count. Count the animals and put the number block down with the correct answer. Cards 3, 4 and 5 make counting a little more difficult. Look carefully to find all the matching vehicles1
At level 2, children need to find the right symbols and answers to the sum. For cards 7 and 8, children will need to first count the animals and then find the right symbol and answer.
At level 3, children will do subtraction sums. Count the pictures and work out the answer to the sum.
At level 4, children will need to find the missing number to make the equation match the answer.
At level 5, combine language with doing sums. Children will need find the right number to match the number spelled out as a word.
At level 6 – children will do multiplication sums for the first time and learn the 2-times/multiplication table
Furthermore, you can remove the exercise card and use the yellow playing field to create your own equations as children develop. The grooves ensure the tiles align.
